Things to do in Bwejuu

Bwejuu is the calm stretch between Paje and Michamvi: a wide, casuarina-lined beach with far fewer people, small family-run hotels and the same turquoise lagoon the kite crowd flocks to ten minutes south.

  • Quiet beach days
  • Families
  • Long walks
  • Value stays

The beach

Very wide at low tide, with sandbars you can walk out to and almost no beach vendors. Swimming follows the tide, so check the table the night before.

Eating and evenings

Small hotel kitchens and a handful of beach restaurants; for more choice, Paje is ten minutes south and The Rock at Pingwe is fifteen minutes north.

What to do from here

Kitesurfing lessons in Paje, Jozani Forest inland, Michamvi's west-facing sunset bars and Blue Lagoon snorkelling trips all pick up from Bwejuu hotels.
